Roots at Thorpe Farm

The Mounts have been farming in Barkby Thorpe for over 150 years, after Peter sold his dairy herd our concentration turned to the arable side of farming. Having always sold eggs and potatoes from the farm gate, it was the youngest son George who decided it was time to take the plunge and open a shop. ​Roots first opened its doors in October 2008, selling veg, meat, ready meals and frozen delights as well as animal feed in The Feed Shed. In October 2013 our little coffee shop opened and more and more people became part of the Roots Family. Forever expanding, The Tractor Shed is a perfect space for events.
