De Montfort University Leicester was the birthplace of Leicester Comedy Festival and has ever since had a unique and close relationship with the event so we are proud to be a sponsor again this year DMU has built a strong mutual partnership with the festival, involving students on its Arts and Festival Management course, who gain unbeatable real-world experience being trusted to run some of the venues, taking care of acts and promoting the events. Media students interview comedians and review shows, while other students volunteer in the community at DMU Local comedy initiatives. Many of our graduates have also taken to the stage, making names for themselves as stand-ups.
The city council are once again extremely proud to support one of the city's most successful festivals. Leicester is well recognised as a city of diversity and increasingly one that showcases many great festivals throughout the year. The Comedy Festival is no exception and we are very happy to give our continued support to such an asset to the city.

Funnily enough, we take sponsorship very seriously indeed. We understand the commercial pressures on a business, and we know that any investment needs to deliver. And deliver is what we do best. There are a range of exciting packages which can raise your profile even further and give you greater association with the annual Leicester Comedy Festival.
Our promotional campaigns extend across the UK and regularly reach over ¼ million people. Our core audience are aged 30-44, are in full time employment and attend 4 events during each festival. 50% of our festival audience live outside Leicester & Leicestershire so we attract a significant number of people to the annual event.
