Comedy comes in many forms and Leicester Comedy Festival has always tried to reflect that in the events programmed and the people who are involved in creating each festival. This approach has existed since the event began in 1994 and has resulted in numerous projects and partnerships with organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We’re proud of the work we do with others, as we try and ensure the festival remains “a pretty broad grin” (The Guardian) for as many people as possible.

For 2020, we are working with partners (including LAMP, The Samaritans and De Montfort University) to include information about how you can visit the festival and remain happy and healthy throughout the 19 days. We have received some funding from Time To Change, who have generously supported our programme of events and initiatives designed to make sure everyone has a good time whilst at the festival. For 2020, there will be a series of events and initiatives designed to improve the mental health and well-being of comedians, performers, venue staff, promoters and you, our audience.

We have produced a handy access guide to festival venues which you can request by emailing info@bigdifferencecompany.co.uk

The guide gives some information about physical access to the majority of our venues. If you have specific queries or questions, please contact the venue direct.

If you have any have any comments about how we can continue to make the festival more accessible,
