If you choose to sign up as a volunteer for Leicester Comedy Festival we require the following personal data

    • First and Last Name
    • Email address
    • Telephone number
    • Address, City and Postcode
    • Comments and feedback about volunteer experiences (optional)
    • Information about your interests and skills (optional)
    • CV

How We Use Volunteers Personal Data

All of the information you provide during the application process will only be used for the purpose of progressing your application, or to fulfil legal or regulatory requirements if necessary.

We will not share any of the information you provide during the recruitment process with any third parties for marketing purposes or store any of your information outside of the European Economic Area. The information you provide will be held securely by us whether the information is in electronic or physical format.

We will use the contact details you provide to us to contact you to progress your application. We will use the other information you provide to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for. 

Once we have confirmed you as a Leicester Comedy Festival volunteer we will use your data to contact you about volunteering opportunities and events throughout the year or to send you operational details of an event you are volunteering at.

We will not use your data for any other purpose.

When you sign up for our newsletter we will collect your name and email address. Our mailing list is held by a third party Campaign Manager. You can unsubscribe from the list at any time, using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter email. If you choose to unsubscribe from our mailing list, your personal details will be removed from our Campaign Manager account within 24 hours.

If you decide to contribute to one of our surveys you will be signing up with a third party Survey Monkey. They take your privacy very seriously and you can check their Privacy Policy https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/legal/privacy-policy/ to understand fully how they will process your data.

How long is the information retained for?

If you are successful, the information you provide during the application process will be retained by us as part of your volunteering file for the duration of the time you volunteer with Leicester Comedy Festival.

On a yearly basis, after that year’s festival we will contact you to see if you wish to carry on volunteering with Leicester Comedy Festival.

If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process or no longer wish to volunteer for Leicester Comedy Festival, the information you have provided until that point will be deleted within 40 days.

How do we keep your personal information safe?

We ensure that there are appropriate technical controls in place to protect your personal details.  The personal information that you provide will be held securely and will not be used for any other purpose than as provided for in this policy. We ensure that there are appropriate technical controls in place to protect your personal information; for example, any information which we transfer is encrypted and password protected, and all of our staff receive data protection and security training.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.
